odyssey camp 2005

hmmm.. decided to blog the events of odyssey so that i dun have to repeat myself. haha! :) hmmm... day 0 was erhm... quite sian bah? cos by the time i went there almost everything was done liao, only did some minor adjustments to the tarzan's play, then watched the 21th batch do the rest like the see saw? this year not much due to the great change in activities... no more obstacle course!!!! what the hell man... and much more which i will eleborate later lah. hmmm... after that they ran thru the initiative games where 20th batch acted as campers... quite lame... haha! ya... weida and gang again... (they even kenna knocked down...) then after that had dinner with 20th while 21th stayed in sch to do up their odyssey performance and other last min stuff, then at night i went home cos i had something on the next day... heard 20th adn some of 21th went to watch movie after that.

i only attended day 1 from like 10am onwards... quite sad... supposed to have 23 campers... then 1 got high fever, 1 food poisoning, and cos cca no more points, 3 did not come... left 18. then again, for those 3, better lah, dun waste our time. then joel's bro joshua also there as a camper. hmmm... fitness odyssey was pretty similiar to all the other years, endless torture? hah! hmmm... but this year diff is that most of them broke their souls like damn fast! heard that one grp leave the squash court break it liao.. maybe cos nowadays chickens are getting ill-treated?? but 21th batch very kind, gave it back, prob too easily... this batch also less enthu and also erhm... as the 21th batch complain, treat the seniors with less respect and low discipline. then after lunch, hell came... they had something called amazing race... quite crazy xia! ran from sch to parkway parade and then from parkway to bedok jetty and after which to the macs and back to sch, with stations along the way to "spice" up the hike (for eg, there was this station u had to climb up a 16 storey building and count the no of steps as u go up. qutie cranky.... but the rest not that bad... like one requiring u to stick ur head into the bush to find something like how an ostrich would stick it's head into the sand to make itself feel better when threatened. then also got one station they had to fly kite, ya... across bedok jetty. some quite fun lah, like got one have to find matchsticks hidden in the drain) anyway after fitness odyssey, covering this dist is not easy, end up got cramps and such... but i happy to say that the grp i followed started 13 mins later than the rest and came in 1st!! hah! ya... joel's grp was last again.. this time they never hold hands and run though... haha! oops... after that was weida and gang's time to entertain with some quiz that i had totally no idea what it was abt.. dunno if i was cos i ns too long or too tired liao... hmmm... then they had this game where weida and gang planted ballons everywhere (drains, manholes and places u wont look into basically) then have to find... after that was dinner, where they had night games and we have FLOORBALL!!! YEAH! then nearing the end, joel and i joined in... bad choice... both kenna shaving cream and some camper threw a water bomb at me!!! of course i went after her with a pail of water after that. haha! oh ya.. then alferd came and said that there was someone very suspicious walking to adn fro, said asked if should warn the campers abt it, then also went to infrom my goh. being mr kapo, i crept nearby using whatever skills i learn from ns to get a closer look of his face. then when i was in a perfect position to see his face while i was hidden, my phone rang and i also received an sms too... fate.... therefore i would like to thank my mystery caller(camp line no munber one) and my platoon mate for smsing me... luckily, it was juz some super bored guy walking to and fro, if not i dunno how liao... after everything, 21th felt they had to instil discipline.. and a mini rebellion threatened to occur... quite sad... one of them was so pissed he was theatening to quit and was trying to get ppl to quit with him adn telling others he cannot stand the camp... after supper was evaluation where some of them wrote that they hated the instructors... hiaz... anyway those guys are juz not meant for the club anyway... they juz want to waste our time... after that of course was flag stealing time! the 21st stole 3, but could not steal the one joshua was looking after, then they ask for my help. when i went in, i understood why... i enter, walk a few steps, then joshua suddenly got up and stared and us... kenna shocked xia... wah lao... so never steal his flag. by the end of day one, almost all carryign weight plates after breaking too many eggs, and the flag till sian liao... weida and gang then played playstation till dunno what time...

day 2 started with some activity at the bedok swimming pool, cos mr goh did not allow going to the sea. dun ask me why... had think water polo and otehr games. i never go cos cannot wake up. hah!! oh ya.. mr goh insisted on taking bus there too even though it's qutie near.. but think they take bus there walk back.. went for lunch at parkway, macs hotcakes for me! then twang around before going back again for initiative games, which was prob the hmmm... more fun part of the camp. but dunno why morale was pretty low thoughout day 1 and 2 too... till qutie sian... the grp i followed for the games never even smile one... so sad! but the games quite interesting.. got one have to blow some bag up the pole... but the instructors give far too many hints liao, so everyone completed everything, unlike our time where we had to experiment on our own... see saw was a again a main highlight... and time wastage too... one grp took40mins, not too bad, the other too so long that after watching for erhm... more that an hour, we decided to go for dinner then come back for odyssey night... was a wise choice.. hmmm... dinner was good!! really good! very long never eat a proper meal be4 that... odyssey night was not bad except for the fact that there were more seniors than campers combined, and our batch only got joel and i! HIAZ! all the performance lame as usual, with one grp having team rockets, power puff girls and dunno what combined... supper com was next, and william also came at that moment. good timing.. haha! food was hmmm, very little and think dun have really any really cranky and zai one, but nonetherless was good lah. next was interview where i went around crashing interviews and along the way found out abt some very very interesting stuff abt someone from 21th batch... hmmm... very very interesting one... hah! but cannot write here lah, not nice :) it's along qing hua that line one.. although i think qing hua still more power. hmmm.. oh ya.. abit of weiyang too.. haha! then after everything william and i went to steal flags again.. this time only stole 2 though.. one was in the girl's bunk, the other was too well slept on to steal liao... oh ya.. the guys (instructor) bunk damn stink of smelly socks lah! cannto take it so shifted to another room to sleep.. dunno how joel managed to sleep there.. he prob fainted...

day 3 was bukit timah hike, actually dun wanna wake up one but no choice... hike qutie tiring.. got screw up too, they all gave th campers the wrong route to follow so got some confusion, but everything ended up well in the end lah. the at the hill top they had these games where the instrutors had to act like pri 6 kids and ya... after looking at them i started to get a little worried abt my uni life... then again, since i could endure it during jc, so i most prob should have little prob for uni. right??? hah!! then got some nusery kids too... qutie cute! hah! then we made our way down after that (btw mr goh went to twang, he was no where to be seen except a few minutes at the hill top (i bet he took the shortest route...) then around 1 went down and was on the way back to sch... reach sch liao then normal things loh, give out prize, take down and keep the stuff, pack bunk and ya... area cleaning. joshua, joel's bro got mr odyssey and erhmm... cannot really remebmer the name liao... think it's amelia ar... got ms odyssey.

hmmm... final evaluation, think this camp alot of effort lah, did tons of recce and trials... but think marketing not xiong enough.. not enough campers leh... think at most prob 10 or so PIs... too many quitting liao... and dunno if the rest can stay in vj not... this batch not really promising, or porb they have yet to show their potentials... hmmm.. all the best to the nnext batch man! oh ya... before i end, i would like to say that weida is damn ultra sei! hah! his mind is damn corrupted... and he was like going around dunno taking what photos... eh... weida, (if u read this), u have not gone ns u liddat liao... siao liao lah u! hah!! juz dun turn gay and go around dropping soap... shall end here! -ken
